Default Keep your feet on the pegs

I was out touring the backroads north of Gatineau, QC this afternoon. I found a bunch of nice narrow twisties completely free of traffic. The best of all was the road past the Mt. Cascades ski resort (and waterpark). I had always been of the impression that the road ended at the resort parking lot, but today I noticed a narrow road continuing on into the wood. It turns out that it leads to the Mt. Cascades golf club (OK so it's probably not a big secret).

Anyway, on my return trip I came around a corner that was covered in sand. I was going somewhere between 40 and 50 km/h maybe even slower. As I reached the apex of the turn I felt the bike slip a little. Instinctvely I stuck my foot down. Bad move! It was like I had kicked the ground. My big toe smacked into the front of my boot and I stubbed my toe big time.

I made the corner just fine. It wasn't that bad a slip. I realized that putting my foot down at the speed was a useless thing to do. Keep your feet on the pegs!
