Default Stolen License Plate....

So I just went down to shine up my baby, and I realized the license plate was gone! Somebody stole it! I'm so angry right now. I just phoned the police and reported it.....they will call me right back to get more info. They still haven't called back!!!!

So after I give all the details to the police, what should I do? Go down to registry and buy a new plate??? Plus pay for new registration?? Should I call my insurance? I've never had a license plate stolen before! I'm so angry and frustrated!!!

I hope that whoever stole it gets in an accident and breaks both their legs!!!

You need to just go get new plates they are only like $6 here in texas. When I bought my bike it had no plates, but the registration was still good. Found out last week that someone had stole the plates and got pulled over. My name came up when they ran them but it showed I got new ones. I think the guy also got a charged for stealing the plates.

It is 25 bucks for a new plate in Edmonton. I don't mind paying....at least I don't have to pay registration again. But I'm still miffed. I hope what goes around comes around really plays into effect. I'm trying to think back to if I've done something bad lately.....maybe something is coming around for me. But I don't think so!

I'm wondering if I should put my winter cover on my bike each night....that just seems like such a pain in the ***!

Not that it will help with your stolen plate, but when you get new ones, I would suggest getting security bolts. I got mine from Target (designed for a car, but that just means that I have two spares!). They are the kind where you need a special allen wrench to remove it. It won't stop the serious thief, but it will stop the others...

Hmm!
Good info Firedog. I've never heard of these, but I'll be looking out for them.

Security Torx bit maybe Firedog?

Peek, that sucks, don't know why they would steal a plate. Maybe they stole another bike which didn't have them !?!? Doesn't make sense...

Just be thankful they didn't steal your bike, if someone only stole my Cousins tags he would have been upset but not as upset to see someone stole his entire motorcycle while he went in to take a shower. BE GRATEFUL

God I am. I truly truly am. That's exactly what I was thinking.

I was going to attempt to get some of the rust off my bike, but I sort of though......hmmmm......maybe it's not as attractive to thiefs if I do.......

Alot of times theifs will steal a bike, then take the plates off another bike. That way if a cop runs the plates on the bike it will not come back a stolen. Alot of the time people will take a while to report plates, but stolen bikes get reported right away.

Default security bolts

I bought some security bolts today. I sure hope it prevents this from happening again. The inconvenience of having to do this is really upsetting. It took me almost 3 hours and 50 bucks to get new plates and security bolts. And of course if this idiot gets caught, he will get a slap on the wrist!

I also bought some polish to attempt to get the surface rust off. May or may not work.....but I decided I'm not going to let some petty thug stop me from making my bike pretty!!!!

Yeah. Yeah, that's the ticket! Somedays, my brain just doesn't process what I'm trying to say correctly.

Think about it like this why do ppl steal plates? Usually its to ride a stolen vechicle, in your case its either to sale the tags or use them to ride a stolen motorcycle. If he gets caught he probaly already has had a slap on the wrist, ppl that steal things espiecally motorcycle tags for stolen vehicles had to have some dealings with the law. His day will come what goes around comes around, but I am happy you are taking the proper steps to ensure the tags do not get stolen again. GOOD LUCK and keep that 3rd eye open.

On the other side of thought....are you sure it was stolen. Balzin Blue was right in front of me on the the Ride up to the Dragon..his plate was falling off. Bolts had become loose and the tag was flappin in the wind.

Imagine catching that in the teeth. whew!

I originally thought maybe they had "fallen" off. But the nuts were on the ground right by my bike. So that gave it away.

Hopefully these security bolts work wonders!!!

With gas prices these days people are stealing plates in record numbers. Gas up, ride off, the store gets the tag number and guess what? Jonny Law shows up at your place and wants to know why you stole gas....
