YADAYADAYADAYADAYADA, BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH.

I don't recall me saying I go around waxing my seat everyday. I read the bottle and know what it says. I'm really not apologizing just trying to make everyone who got offended by me doing so feel better. I wanted to get a good pic of my bike for my desktop and the one with the shiny seat looked better. I haven't shined it since just wanted to know if anyone else ever shined their seat. Its a YES or NO question no need to get your panies in a bunch.

And to anyone who reads this post Please don't shine your seat with turtle wax, It is not recommended and the Professionals will all have heart attacks and fall over. All together now "NO MORE WAX, NO MORE WAX, NO MORE WAX"

you shine your seat with turtle wax and now you are defending it? No one said you had to defend what you did like Louis said "its your bike do what you want" but I dont take offense to you not being able to accept corrective criticism regarding waxing your seat with turtle wax but based on your response it allows me to see that you are not a very mature person.

Can you tell me the definition of Maturity it seems you have some growing up to do yourself. As a Man I don't see the imaturity in defending anything I do. And if you think my responses are imature then your just as imature by responding yourself. I sense that you have a problem with me so I'm not going to respond after this so you have a good day and I'll show you how to be mature and walk away from a no win situation such as this wax party.

Boss I have no problem with you seriously we are cool, but if you ask a question dont expect everyone to agree with what you are either asking or saying thats all no hard feelings. I did not mean to offend you or hurt your feelings so for that I apologize.

So, if I read your comment right, I have no common because I ride in the rain? I ride from April till there is frost on the roads (early December mornings) rain or shine.
I've come to realize people in other general forums feel the need to be rude, but that's something I got used to because I see it all the time. For no particular reason, there's always someone who's going to b*tch.

That's a going rule for a lot of forums - a lot of them get flamed quickly especially for newer users who haven't felt them out. Always a great idea to be nice.

I think a lot of the time it is people being oversensitive. Most of the things said on a forum, if said face to face would not get any attention at all. Read post #8 and pretend you're sitting at a table in the pub. Would you get upset? I wouldn't.

I use a product called 303 Aerospace Protectant. You should be able to pick it up at your local boating store. It's great. It has the UV protectants and leaves a nice shine. But it doesn't have the greasy feel. It doesn't make your seat slick like armor all does. It's expensive ($20 a bottle), but I like it.

Info on it is here: 303 Products Inc.: 303 Aerospace Protectant

Thank you very much for the info I'll give that a try and hopefully no one has a stroke over this one.

Most new bikes come with pleather seats, not leather. Still a bad idea to use automotive grade wax on a seat. However, it does look nice.

my boss, the not so bright guy who owns a bike, told me to never use armor all on the seat of a bike. he had learned some important lesson doing that himself. considering how fast he starts off at lights, i can just imagine what that lesson was.

so be careful.
