Default Clutch adjustment- trans slippage

Hope this is the right area to post this ? ? ? On 03 Marauder 800
Noted on hard acceleration, especially 3rd and 4th gear, that engine revs would increase, but ground speed wouldn't match. Trans slippage was obvious. Helpful parts mgr at local dealer listened to my questions if dirty oil or type of oil (organic vs synthetic) would cause slippage. He then asked to see the bike, which was outside. He checked clutch lever and cable adjustment. Noted that it was pretty tight against the stop. He demonstrated how to adjust to obtain just a little slack so that clutch had room to disengage. Subsequent test runs over the next couple weeks showed no slippage when pouring the coals to it. When he checked it, my bike was on my trailer, returning home from a dealer who wanted to keep my bike in the shop for a week so they would have time to thoroughly troubleshoot my clutch which they warned might be shot. Maybe they would have checked the linkage first, who knows ? I like my friendly, helpful, local dealer who was good enough to provide this abnormal service.
