| I have an alarm(Armed Guard) on my bike, I had disarmed, uncovered my bike fired it up, did up my jacket, placed my helmet on, then was doing my gloves and managed to arm my alarm which went off as my bike was running. No big deal I disarm and ride off. 2 Hours later, I pull in for a gas stop and after paying my bike does not start, I am getting the fuel pump making noise but no starter. I check kill switch, kickstand, clutch, not in gear, no starter. I push the bike out of the way, lights are all bright, not electric, so I phone my favorate service manager go over things, then I say would it be my Alarm, he says it should not be, I pull out the remote, arm, then disarm. Bike starts. Because the bike was running when the alarm went off, the starter disable did not reset when I disarmed the alarm 2 hours before. Now I know and hopefully those wth alarms will check before phoning for assistance. Last edited by blackie1491; 05-17-2006 at 05:51 PM. |

| If the tilt sensor is tripped, the starter circuit is disabled, any voltage change and the ignation system is disabled, if I trigger the panic button all power is cut. Since the bike was running when I triggered the alarm it did not reset the starter disable.. I assume that is a safety feature in case I am riding my bike when I trigger the alarm. The panic function requires a long hold of the button. This system also has a page feature which I use at night, so the system is good, the operator is the problem. |

| 100% Title Free ![]() | A similar thing happens with a lot of newer GM cars with factory alarms after the battery dies or is replaced. I've had to explain that one to several irate customers when I was selling auto parts.
