I pulled in to the local gas station to feed my wife's Land Yacht last night, and as I get out at the pump I see a rider come down the street dragging a backpack -- the nylon sport bag kind that just has strings through the neck and over the shoulders. She rides down the street, pulls up the access road, and drives through the parking lot to pull into a space -- and it honestly looks like she's oblivious to the bag situation (otherwise, why didn't she just pull over to fix it -- there's plenty of room off the street in that part of town). As she gets off her crotchrocket, one of the patrons goes over to her to let her know about the bag, and she promptly starts going off on the guy. Even when he tries backing off and telling her he was just making sure she was aware, she's still yelling at him. Now, it's possible that she had already had a bad day and that it proceeded to get worse when the string broke, but I doubt that anyone in the parking lot or at the pumps will take that into consideration or remember anything other than her jumping down the throat of someone trying to help. And since she never took off her helmet, all anyone saw was a motorcycle and rider, they never saw a person. |
