Speed is one thing. That's part of the appeal of basically an engine with wheels but if you cant handle the speed then your looking for trouble. What are the odd's that he possibly had a few drinks in him as well? If he lived life in the "fast lane" chances are he was a partier. It is a horrible tragedy for the family having experienced it first hand as well. My uncle passed away on a motorcycle as well. Surprisingly it was my mother who convinced my father to let me get a bike (she told him to get another one to ride with me and keep me learning the right way so i guess he had some incentive). But always respect the road.
