Default Never too old to learn

On a club run this past weekend, I learned a difference between a custom and a stock saddle that I was unaware even existed. I've outfitted my 05 B-12 with a Corbin gunfighter and lady saddle that I have been very pleased with. This past Sunday, I took a ride to some decent twisties and badly overshot 4 turns, an almost religious experience that gets your heart rate up there! Riding into and out of the dirt didn't bother me so much but I was getting really po'd about blowing those turns. I could only get so much lean into the the bike before hitting a point where the bike refused to go deeper no matter how hard I countersteered. The problem turns out to be the tractor seat shape of the Corbin, so comfy on long hauls, that keeps your butt planted firmly in the pocket making hanging off and rapid side to side weight transfer almost an impossiblity. I confirmed this by putting the stock seat back on and the big Bandit handled the turns with no sweat. So, next time you go twisty hunting on your sport-tourer, you may either want to ease off just a bit in those turns or put the stock seat back on, and be careful out there.
