I disagree with some of these "tips", especially number 8.

Learn to use BOTH brakes, not just the front!

I'll have to consider the idea that higher engine rpm will help stabilize the bike against a windy day...... Making a rather small flywheel or crankshaft go faster for some hoped-for gyro effect seems dubious..... Keeping rpms tight on a shaft bike through the twisties will keep her from squatting and wallowing so much, and maintain higher ground clearance......

Those are a collection of suggestions by non-experts. I'd look to the 'gems' in my sig for more reliable info.

Have to agree with you on this, I don't quite get the authors point on that one .
Most of the points the article suggests are valid but some will be open to debate or personal preferences.
With regards to # 8, maybe he is alluding to the fact that some bikes (M50) have lousy rear brakes and you cannot effectively rely on them , in these cases whether you like it or not you are relying on front brake braking.(just a thought)

The point might have been that learning to use the front alone enhances the use of both together.

#95 is just plain stupid, the last thing I'm going to do is take my hands off the bars when I'm approaching an intersection.

I think it was a joke, which is one of the reasons that this particular list is not very valuable.

I think they left out one very important tool you have to use when dealing with tailgaters.....pull over and let them by! I'm not hanging a sign on my bike asking someone not to tailgate, but if they do i'm going to get out of their way.
