If you think it's sad in prison you should check out a local crack house or shooting gallery (IV drug house). It is truely so sad to see the position people put themselves in by making poor choices. It can also be inspirational. Some people might say F### 'em that's what they chose, which is true enough, I prefer to the But for the grace of God there go I

It does make you think and I would totally agree with you that it is inspirational. If people want to make the choice of f'ing up their life, them let them do it. We can try and intervene, but we cant help them all. We can stop and think about and realize, just how good we have things, even though we think we may have it bad.

Today I learned my Caterpillar boots are not really very good to ride with, because with the vibration caused by the bike, they slide off the foot pegs..

Its 106 miles to Chicago. We have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, its dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Hey, psycho, we're not getting back together. Now get out of my Van Halen t-shirt before you jinx the band and they break up.

Could it be that they're 'crawling' off the pegs?

But seriously - would you recommend these to ride in?

Those are perfectly suited to riding. What size do you wear ? Maybe it's just your big feet flapping in the wind.

Actually just be carefull of the laces, tuck them in to your boot to be on the safe side. Depends more on foot position on the pegs, if you could rest your foot with the peg under the arch of your foot it would probably be stabler ( is that a word ? ).

My thinking is that you're just not used to them, probably the thick boots and soles isolate your foot more than you're used to and you don't feel the minor shifts in foot position until it's too late rather than the vibration actually walking your foot off the pegs.

Do you have footrests(floorboards) or are you talking about forward (stetch those legs out) pegs? I just bought a pair of steel toe cats like the ones pictured and they take getting use to. The arch doesn't catch the forward pegs like my cowboy boots, but I hope with some adjustment, they'll work out. Not a problem with floorboards though. Those steel toes will sure come in handy if attacked by a Grizzly on those backcountry rides.

Nope - they're just regular foot pegs - about an inch and a half wide and stick out about 4 inches.

Oh, yes - Your toes would be well protected with those steel toe caps!

Uncle Bob, I think that may be the case. Its like they say you shouldn't drive a car with thick soled shoes as you cannot feel the pedals. But then again, if I come off the bike, they would protect me feet and ankles better than my Nike's..

Backwards? That must be what the problem is!

They actually work well in wet weather like we have at the moment..

One thing I learned yesterday. Braking distances should be increased in wet weather. I locked up my back wheel yesterday morning and nearly hit the back of another car. Had to swerve off the road into the dirt to avoid it. Very sobering!

Regards
Dwayne
