I have a tip that I thought of today. When they are re-paving the road, and you have to make a left turn, you should slow down as if there is sand on the road even if it appears to be clear. Turning from the main road onto the secondary, You can ride right through all that lose gravel/tar/asphalt (what ever it is) and slip. This morning, I went to turn left, and as I entered the secondary road, my front wheel slipped quite a bit while I was still in the turn. I slowed down a lot and obviously not enough. I was able to pick the bike up enough to regain the front. I was going slow enough that picking it up did not cause a high side, but fast enough that it slipped in the first place. I did look through the turn and it looked clear. It was black like the rest of the new pavement and so I did not see it was loose.
