Default Dropped IT !!! Damn..

Well, I took out my intruder after it snowed a day before ..
I went out running as well and may be because of the runner's high it came to me that let's take her out......
The roads were really clean except in few spots ther was some patches of snow.
Gee, I now realize that motorcycle is a rear wheel drive !
On snow motorcycle really acts weird ..
So I rode it and came back unscratched first time. But I took it out second time as well and while just 10 meters away from my garage, just 10 meters away, it slipped and went down under me at 3 miles per hour

What was worse: There was some one behind me and ....
He saw me .

Not to mention I picked it up and started (it started !!) and rode the remaining 10 meters with my pride still left on the floor ...

Thank God No scratches on me or the Bike.

Motorcycles don't work so well in snow or ice. I'm all for riding in bad weather but when snow or ice is involved in anyway you pretty much have to leave the bike parked.

That sucks man!!! I was in the process of selling my bike, and I was lettting someone test ride it. He told me not to worry, that he had riden a lot of bikes. I now know that if anybody has to tell you that they have riden bikes all their life, then they are LYING!!!!!! He rode it off, cutt of a car, and was squirly all down the road. I was sitting back biteing my nails hoping he wouldn't drop it. He finally got it back to my house. I have a little bit of a dip and then a bump into my driveway, so when he got there, I told him to stop. I took it up the bump. I examened it, and there was some new scratches down the side of my gas tank, and my right handle bar was kinda loose. I asked him if he dropped it, and he looked offended and said "No!!! Of course not!! I've never dropped a bike in my entire life!!!!" Well, now I am stuck fixing it, and trying to clean up the paint. I chose to keep it. I could not let my beautiful bike out of my hands if it was going to be dropped by that guy. I take way too much pride in my bike to let someone else drop it. So I know how you feel man!!

The Hammer woke me up last night calling me.2am..then the BLISTIC (mustang) called me right after that...it was like a damn arguement..drive me! No ride me! ..ugh! If I didn't have a to bring something home..it would have been a tough decission. See we have 70% chance rain tomorrow and I won't hear a peep all night! They don't like the rain!

Ok Pete,,, that sh*t was funny!!!!! Drive me,,no no ride me. My stable goes like this,,, Ride me and freeze from the "LC". The Stang says, "Stay the Hell away from me." The truck keeps begging me for a new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, exhaust manifold, and/or a new engine. The Marquis just says "Get your A$$ in and lets go."

But the weekend seems to be in 40's so I guess I am Riding. ..

I sometimes have to pull the Choke if I need to start .. I wonder If I need new battery or anything.. the battery is 2 years old, that's what the prov. Owner said.

Heck even when it's 90 degrees outside and the bike is cold I have to pull the choke. I wouldn't worry about that. The battery is probably ok if it cranks it fine everytime. They don't just stop working unless you have a fault in the charging circuit, there is internal damage to the battery, or you leave a power source on and it drains it.

If you are worried about it take the battery off and charge it,, then take it to a parts house and have them perform a load test on the battery. You could also take the bike to a shop to let them check the charging output of the bikes charging system or just check the voltage reaching the battery with a voltmeter.

Depending on the bike they generally should have a 12 volt output at least. 12.5 to 13.5 is considered a strong charging output. Also speed of the engine will determine the charging output. The output should be tested at several different rpm's. Idle, 1500 rpm, and 2500 rpm. Those are safe rpm speeds to check it on.

The theory behind that is you want to make sure the bike is charging enough to keep the battery charged and the bike running at idle, at normal in town cruising speeds it should charge it more, and at highway speeds it should reach or at least be able to maintain it's full charging capability.

That is why you will see cars going down the road with the headlights going dim to bright. When they accelerate they brighten and when they decelerate they dim. Alot of your older 6volt and early 12 volt systems were notorious for that. But todays cars still do it some as well,,just not as noticable.

If you don't feel confident in the battery's age then take it to a shop or check it yourself. Proper maintenance of the battery will help lengthen the battery's lifespan.

Default Urge to ride

I feel the pain as well. Sunday was a beautiful day in the 40's. Snow melted off the road. What more do you want for this time of the year you are probably thinking. Well, there was more gravel on the road from the snow plows then on the side of the road. The gravel can be as bad as the ice for a street bike. Now, I'm waiting for the gravel to disappear.

I feel you pain. I dropped my bike in the driveway once. No real damage but I dropped it down hill and it was a real pain to pick up. Thank goodness I was younger and stronger then. I don't think I'd be able to pick it up now, Not to mention my M95 is 80 pound heaver than that bike.
