 |  Need some help with starting: I have 1999 Suzuki 800 Intruder. For the last 2.5 years, i did not use and was sitting in the garage. The fuel tank was emptied before storage, except battery was not removed. During July 4 weekend, I took the bike out. The following things are completed: 1. Carbs cleaned (Front and Back) 2. Replace o-rings, fuel filter 3. cleaned Air Filter (not replaced) 4. Spark plugs changed (with gap specifications) 5. Fresh Fuel (just a gallon) 6. New Battery (Fully charged). Checked: Compression checked -Good Plugs checked - Good Spark lights are ON and horn works. When, I click on the starter button the engine cranks. The first starter button push did not do much, but with the second push the engine was about to start / fire up but failed. I tried couple of times after 20 minutes it did the same thing. The engine cranks, kind of feels it starting (starts for 2 seconds) and goes back to just cranking. I thought, the battery is weak and recharged fully again. I have noticed that engine is about to start (but really does not start fully) only during the first/second start button push and that too with fully charged battery. This morning, I took the battery to the dealer and checked it with load test. The dealer said it is good. This evening, I did install the battery and tried again. The engine cranks, kind of starts and goes back to cranking. I really appreciate your help. |
