Default new or used

suzuki has a deal in my area that I can get $99 for 6 years on a new SV650s, but there is a used one that will likely be at least those payments, and I dont know how well it has been broken in, isnt there a strict break in period with RPM guidelines and such? I kinda like the idea of paying less per month and breaking it in myself, especially since during that break in time I am learning the bike better, and with a better mechanical reasoning behind it wont be as tempted to find out how far back the twisty thing on the right goes. thoughts?

As with any vehicle purchase whether it be bike or auto, you never know how it was treated, personally I would go with new, especially for the low payment.

+1 - That we would be a major consideration.

And as far as break in is concerned, I come from the school of run it like you stole it after a couple of heat cycles and an oil change. That goes for cars, trucks, boats, bikes, etc....Whether I built the motor or the manufacturer did. I have always had excellent results.

The SV's motor is damn near bullet proof. RandyO on SVrider.com has over 125,000 miles on his 99 or 00 SV. So unlike some other motorcycles an SV can rack up 50k miles and it still pulls as hard as if you just did your 600 mile first tune up.

I just got that deal ($99/mo. for 60 mos.). You just have to realize that after the 60 months, the bike will not be paid for. You have to either pay it off at that point, or else refinance. I've got some cash laying around, so I thought I'd go for the deal. My '06 is sweet and moves like a champ! Why only two color options though? I liked the yellow '05.

well the '05 was my choice, I pick it up at lunch today. it was 1700 cheeper than new, with 9k on the clock, a slip on muffler and power commander FI kit and the hotbodies fender eliminator. it has a couple scratches cause it was the kids first bike, but I figure for all thats in it and the cheeper price and such.... OTD was 5200, OTD for the new was 7100. Plus the blue is just pretty. just did the loan calculation and for 60 mo at 5.75% 5300 comes to $102/mo and in 5 years its paid off, unlike the zuki deal, way better all around I belive

I got mine with the Suzuki $99/month deal......BAD deal; it's just like a credit card; I paid my first month $100, and my new balance is $2 more than the original!!!!! Finance charges will kill you (err.....me). I'm looking for a way to pay for it right now.

I went through eloan for mine. I didn't have to worry about all that, I just went in, gave them the check and left. I chose a three year option though, that way my car and my bike will be paid off in the same year!
