Default suzuki gs 1000 wiring probs

hi . just bought a gs 1000 g when i bought it the carbs were stripped so i promptly started the rebuild of the carbs. refitted them and she runs lovely. the problem i have is there was a honda rectifier fitted which looked a bit bodged. so i bought a new one . which i have fitted . the problem i have is that the bike wont start now its just dead on the starter button it just does nothing. also a different problem is that i dont have any lights that work sometimes the indicators work but there is no side or main lights at all. does anyone have any clues? cheers neil

Dead battery
Loose/corroded connection, either at the battery or at the other end of the main cables.
Blown fuse(s)

Did the lights work BEFORE you changed out the rectifier?
