Default clutch slip on 1200 bandit

may i first start by saying hi, i have just joined the forum. i have owned a 1200 bandit for 4 years now and it has been a dream, until now, at high revs in 3rd, 4th and 5th, gearing up an down the clutch slips then takes grip. i know the that plates 5 and 6 inbetween the friction plates are thicker and was advised that putting a thicker plate in position 2 would solve the problem, this made it better but it is still not right, i have also replaced the friction plates which made no difference, any help woiuld be appreciated as i have a track day in 1 week and want the bike in top performance for then, thanks.
