Default Gsx650F

Does anyone know anything about the GSX650F?
I currently ride an 06 S50, I had a 750 nighthawk before that, I would have bought another 750 Nighthawk if they still made them. I have decided I may not be a cruser guy, I still like the twisties, I don't care for the lay down riding position of the "sport bikes".
The GSX650F looks like it may be a good compromise between comfort and handling.

It is a fully faired version of the current Bandit 650, which is only available overseas now. I guess the rear suspension is a bit different, the seat is one piece, as opposed to two, and the engine is mapped slightly differently. There are a few reviews online if you do a search. I have an '07 Bandit 650S, so if you had any questions, I may be able to answer them.

I rode one. Only drawback to me was it is on the heavy side, and didn't have fully adj. suspension. I think it still had a steel frame too, otherwise, it was comfortable and had good power.

Yes, that is exactly the problem for me. That is why I am trying to sell my Bandit. I want a bike under 400lbs.

It’s probably too late but I just bought one about a month ago. I LOVE that bike! I use it as my daily commuter. As for the weight I think it is a little heavy but just a little. The extra weight makes for a very smooth highway ride. I get lots of people stopping me to ask about my new baby. Plus that Suzuki financing program they have going right now rocks, 50 bucks a month baby!

Thanks for the comments, CYCLE WORLD, July 08 lists the GSX650F as one of the ten best, calling it the "best good ol' bike".
I would probably have one by now except the local dealer wants over list price, not going to happen. I am retiring at the end of this month and will have more time to look at other dealers. I buy my toy's on the "one payment plan", some dealers will negotiate the price for cash, not all though.

Did you look into SV650's? They have a similar riding position, are lighter and might be cheaper..... Some dealers will cut you a better deal if you finance the bike through them. So you could just say you'll make payments then pay it all off after the 1st month

I bought my S50 on Suzuki's credit and paid it off after a year - I noticed when I paid it off I then had $15000 credit!!

Very tempting to go buy a SV650 or even a Bandit 1250 ABS...
