Buell is paying out pretty good race contingency money. I'm really interested in what race body work will look like for it. Would be cool if Sharkskinz or someone would put out some for the B-King.

They never did for the Bandit
Yes this will be really interesting as the aftermarket heats up. So far it's been a real hassle locating aftermarket parts for the Bee. I'm sure the Buell will have the same problem.

Do you have any idea how long the aftermarket took to respond to the Bandit? Did Suzuki come up with much to support its aftermarket?

The Hayabusa's design came from extensive wind-tunnel testing. Can the same be said for the 'Rex?

Do they wind tunnel test bricks?

Rowdy would probably know more about the factory and aftermarket for the Bandits. I don't think Suzuki offered much more than some touring luggage and a gel seat. It can take a year or two for the aftermarket to tool up for goodies. It also depends on how popular a model is. Premier sport bikes can have stuff like body work, exhausts, rear sets, etc. on the market within months.

I'll bet there is off the shelf stuff that would fit the B-King now. Like Race Tech stuff for the forks and Ohlins or Penske shocks. There may be rear sets and quick shifters available too. Just may take awhile for body work and touring stuff.

Was at the local Powersports dealer this weekend picking up some parts. Also, scouting the next ride.

My short list includes:

Concours.

Concours.

Concours.

Concours.

Concours.

Bandit.

Hayabusa.

B-King.

Gixxer.

Did I mention Concours?

I sat on Bandit. GS650F. 'Busa. ZX14. B-King. Gixxer 1000.

The Bandit looked pretty cool. It was kitted out with a full set of luggage and it was up on a center stand (don't know if it's standard). Almost similar to the Buell, but different in ways.

'Busa was fine, but I would need seat time to assess it.

Gixxer...out...

ZX14....out...

650F nice...but too small for me.

B-King......seat time would be mandatory, but for the next ride, either as an addition to the stable, or a replacement.......I'm looking to spend some time behind some fairing...not just the barely there bikini of the Buell.

The B-King definitely has its share of windblast. I suspect the headlight shroud has some effect on the airflow because the blast is really not too stiff under about 85-90 mph. You do become very aware of it over those speeds though. And I would agree that you should definitely ride one.

I will admit that I gave more than one sideways glance at the Concours. There is just something about that bike even though I'm not a tourer sort of guy. Can't explain it.

The B King rocks. It elicits feelings that would make the bandit blush.
