| That is how it should be. Kawasaki made it's name building muscle bikes. I knew it was a matter of time before this would happen. - Nut

| My original link ended up not working this morning but I found a different link this morning and thats what your seeing now; but on the original link they had a pic also of the limited edition kaw. 636 that'll becomming out too I'll see if I can find that one again. That one will probably be a 50/50 shot as far as sales go I think, its quite a "bling" bike, quite a few touches of chrome and the main color was silver with ALOT of sliver flake in it, but being a limited edition I'd think they'd still sell plenty.

| Their 1200 with more power than a busa could never beat a Busa in top end performance. Now they've gone to 1400cc's still in the hopes of taking the lead. IMHO it's a toss up till I see some real world results.

| The 06 Kawasaki ZX 14R is juat too bulky to look aerodynamic. No doubt, the power and speed may surpass the Hayabusa but lookwise, it looks just too clumsy. Could you imagine how heartbreaking it can be should you drop the bike while riding at fast speed? Or whether you could survive such a fall or impact? Doesn't make sense to me to get such a bike if you're commuting in the city with busy traffic unless of course, you intend to ride it from state to state. |

BTW we're just debating performance facts and figures here. Don't think any of us are suggesting these bikes should be wrung out on public roads.

| I doubt there will be an escalation of top end performance for the simple reason that manufacturers had decided that they had gone far enough and to avoid having governments worldwide start dictating how powerfull their bikes could legally be they self inmposed performance limits. There's actually a power limiter built in to the Busa to keep it within agreed guidelines, take that puppy out and you can go faster.

| Muscle Biker ![]() | To be exact, the limit for bikes and cars in Europe has been (voluntarily) set to 250 kmh. Few manufacturers are willing to exceed that limit for street-legal vehicles, however, as the monkey said, chip tuning kits are available if you want to squeeze the last bit of speed or power from your vehicle, at the risk of having your warranty voided if the engine goes poof or having your insurance not cover everything if you go splat.

Seeing as the Busa grabbed the crown prior to regulating it will remain the fasest production bike. This argument is moot.
