Is it fixed? Why does it take so long for a new post to appear on the new post page? Even refresh doesn't allow them to show up.

Yes, it is now apparent that my first theory was wrong.

How about another shot at it?

If you let things progress normally after posting a reply, the program will take you back to the thread and show you your message after it is actually posted. Since you have then SEEN the message, it is no longer "new".
