Default Still need a little help

2000 katana 600---I changed my oil last week and unfortunatly could not drive it until about 4 days after the oil was changed, instead of driving it right away like ive been told to do. I dont know if that 4 day period has anything to do with my problem, however now the bike idles at 2,000rpm instead of around 1,000rpm like it used to before the oil was changed. It has also stalled out on me twice while i was in 1st gear at a stop light since the oil was changed. It never once stalled before the oil change. Finally, i am having a hard time getting the battery to keep a charge. I had to charge the cell back up after not driving it for those 4 days. After i reinstalled the battery last night, i went to start the bike this morning and it acted as if it couldnt pull any current from the battery. The battery had only been off the charge about 6 hours through the night, and it lost this much charge this quickly? Then, as I was giving it a little gas trying to get it to fire off this morning it backfired on me (im guessing that is what happened because something that sounded like a gunshot errupted out of no where and scared me half to death). I have no idea whats going on, i never had any problems with it before this whole oil change occured, any suggestions?
I didnt get anywhere near the carbs or anything electrical when i changed the oil. Perhaps the carbs need to be cleaned out real good? It sounds more electrical in nature to me though, perhaps I need a new starter?
