So last night, I'm on my way to my...er....friend's apartment after I just left the final Wednesday evening "SummerDance" party for the year (it was great, by the way) on Michigan Avenue. Downtown Chicago has been quite the party spot this year. Anyway...I'm riding north on LakeShore Drive and I pull up to this one rider on a YZF. I was confused at what I was looking at for a second...I thought he looked strange b'cos it looked as though he was sitting on one of his feet as he rode, I caught up to him and realized that he was actually in the process of doing a stunt. On frigging Lakeshore Drive....with cars all around. In two seconds he had one foot on his seat and the other one extended in the air behind him while he had his hands on the bars (I think this is called the "Superman", but I'm not sure). What's wrong with these people??? He then proceeded to get back on his bike and split lanes like you would NOT believe. I rode after him for a bit...safely, I might add and watching him, I realized that he was big cojones and small on technique (a point I drove home by deftly overtaking him in a curve as I made my exit off the highway...He followed after and honked respectfully, then rode off.) I don't know about these guys, man!!! At least he had on a helmet and riding jacket to offset the khaki shorts and sneakers he was wearing. |
