Well I'm just getting into the street bike scene. I've ridden my brother's dirtbike (125cc) from time to time, but never even been on a street bike until today. I've wanted one for some time now, and really liked the GSX-R600's. I went a local bike shop, and the guy was telling me about the Suzuki's. He was showing me an SV1000S that was really nice, and he let me get on it and get a feel for it. I must say, although I haven't been on a street bike before, it felt really nice, a lot more comfortable than I thought it would be. The only problem is, it's a 1000cc, and I was looking for a 600 that way I would be less likely to injure myself since I am just starting out on the street. Does anybody know how a GSX-R600 compares to an SV1000S in terms of power, but more importantly stability? The salesman said that since the SV1000S isn't a sportbike, that it is more stable and easier to control than a GSX-R. He said it shouldn't be a problem for me to go from dirtbike to street bikes, and that even the SV1000S wouldn't be hard or dangerous for me to start with. I like that the SV is a V-twin, and it has the dual exhaust. It's also slimmer than a GSX due to the GSX being an I4 engine right? Anyway, I really liked it, but I like the GSX-R's too. Does anybody know how they compare? -Chris |
