Hey all...new to riding and to these forums. I got my permit last Monday and went shopping for bikes that night. I came across a 2001 GSX-R600 Yellow and Black in what looked to be mint physical condition. Had my father with me (he is a licensed rider) and had him take it for a spin and he said it rode nice so we ended up buying it on Tuesday night. Rode it a little bit on Wednesday after I got home from work with my brothers, who were on their bikes. Decided to bring it to Suzuki service to get it a "Once-over" full service. I figured $200 was worth it since it was used and I didn't know much about bikes. They did the service on Friday and let me know that my chain was missing rollers and had to be replaced. $200 more for that lol. Rode it home and it seemed ok the whole way. I went away for the weekend so didn't ride it at all. I got on it last night to go back to the Bike Shop to look at some accessories and the damn thing kept stalling out on me. I must have stalled out at every other light I stopped at. Even backing out of the parking spot at Suzuki while in Neutral, it stalled twice. The Bike has a Power Commander under the back seat and I asked the service guy if that could have something to do with it stalling. He said I can try and adjust one of the columns (turn all the 0's to 5's) or something. It still feels like it's misfiring at idle tho. I used 2 or 3 different maps, one for a full Yoshimura Exhaust, one for stock exhaust....none seemed to work. The bike has a Bolt-on Yoshimura pipe and I am sure they use OEM Air filters at the service center. Should I try and use the map for a Muzzy Bolt on Pipe and Stock air filter? It seems to be the only Bolt-On Map there. Anyone else have a PC in their bike and can gimme some advice? At this point, I am ready to rip the whole thing out and put it away for when I am more experienced with Bikes. A few pics btw... |
