I have an SV650 but never heard of any long term problems with the 1000 on SVRider.Com. It's heavier then the 650 so the turning is a bit slower but it's a rock solid V-Twin motor on a fun bike set up. Try that site for more specific information.

LOL. No one gets by the safety nazis, do they?

Welcome, Bill. We're not as unruly as we may first seem.

I have been riding for 5 yearsall street riding but some pretty agressive. Probably about 15k miles. 32" inseam. I have a '94 Kawi ZX6E (ZZR600) that I have owned since I got my motorcycle liscnse and I rode my friends TL1000R for one season while my bike was under repair. I loved the twin feel and sound that is why I am looking at the SV1000. And no you didn't scare me away i was away all weekend.

I tried going to www.SVRider.com but the page doesn't seem to be there.

The link you posted for SVRider.com seems to work well for me. You can try the SV1000 Portal to see if it contains the info you're looking for. Check out the forum section.

In that case, I will keep my mouth shut, since you are a more experienced rider than I am.

FYI, a friend of mine had just bought an SV1000S last week and I helped him to lower the bike by 1 inch because he can't flat-foot the bike at the original height and he wears inseam 32in.

My uncle has a sv1000s he has about 8000 miles on it and he has'nt had any probs with it, but he did get a thiner seat for it because it was just a bit to high for him.
