| I've searched but can't seem to find it!!! I am looking at a used '96 GS500E as a first bike and am curious what the stock tires are (to make sure they aren't 9 years old!!!). Also, how do I decode the date code (that might clue me in on old tires as well). Bear with me please, I'm a newbie to bikes!!! Thanks! |

| Find where it says DOT followed by some numbers. The last four digits are the date. The first two(of the last four) represent the week and the last two are the year. So if it ended with 2404 That would be the 24th week of 2004.
