This is a link with pictures and video's of some of us this past sunday. We all went to a Japanese motorcycle course to tighten up on our skills and learn what we're doing wrong. I've been at least 6 times and I learn somethin new each time. We only taped a couple of drills we were in but the course is 7 hours long it's 12,600 yen which is about 126 dollars (give or take 5 bucks depending on the rate) and the best part, they give you the bikes to do the course on. Now if the course were in the states they probably would give you the crap bikes, but being we're in Japan the bikes are probably in better condition than I am. If you drop or damage the bikes you don't have to pay anything extra so it's an added bouns and the instructors have done some type of organized racing and have been instructors for a very long time. Now, we're taking the intermidate course. They also have beginners and an advance course. Most of the people in the advance course bring their own bikes to do the course, but most of them also are Japanese cops or are sponsored racers. The japanese guys in the intermidate course are also racers and cops but the advanced course is WAYYYY more complicated than ours. A newbie could do the intermidate course but when I did it when I was just learning I dropped the bike at least 8 times including a high side. I messed up 3 different bikes and the guy just laughed and showed me what I was doing wrong. I can hold my own now but like I said, I've done this atleast 6 times. On one of the video's we're weaving through some cones, the guys I was telling you about are first. They can really ride, the first guy is a cop and the guy on the CBR 1000 is a racer. All the other (japanese) people behind them race also, you can tell where we are because the American's don't lean as hard and do go as fast as the Japanese guys and GIRLS... Just look and see... BTW the place is called Honda field and it's @ Okegawa, you can also learn to fly planes, rally cars, and Blimps... yeah I said it, Blimps... http://www.rocketjockeyracing.com/gallery13.htm Click the pics dated 24 Jun 05. And use the arrows to advance the pics. If you see an arrow on a picture it's a movie clip. I'm the guy with the all the yellow. The other pictures are of my friend racing and some of the other things Japan has to offer. This is also his site. ENJOY |
