Angry Tank Pad or Tank Bras

I wanted everyone's opinion on which one you prefer and why.

I like the Tank Pads better because you can get them with kool pictures on them.

had a tank bra on my sv, and sure it didn't look as nice, but it worked. I thought about a tank pad, but they're so small to the point of me questioning what exactly they'd protect. I mean how if you have a jacket with zippers on your pockets or something...

Oh but I didn't buy the tank bra, it came with the bike.

I had one to cover a small gas tank ding I inherited on my Concours. I think the 7.5 gallon tank was at least a Double D cup...

Thanks for clearing that up StonkingByte.

I have seen full covers that just look like the tank but made of leather, but never a sling that pulls round the tank, and people use these things....?

I don't have a bra and I use to have a pad but now I'm topless and naked. It's a great freeing feeling.

You've got it all wrong.

It's there for storage!

You put something into the pouch, and go on a nice long ride, and get home and find that the garage door opener you put into the bra has $%^#$%@#&#% fallen out without your realizing it. And you're screwed.
And you have to wait till someone comes home and lets you in coz you didn't take the house keys ......

Uh, it's for storage. Yeah, that's it.

Amazingly enough, I still leave the stupid thing on - hoping it'll at least protect the tank from my belt buckle. Hmm, I never wear belts when I go riding, so why the hell is it still on?

I think it depends on the look of the tank bra. I have one on my 04 Gsxr (carbon fiber look) and it looks great, but the other one I saw for my bike looked like crap. Same can be said for some of those stick on pads.

I also had carbon fiber tank bras on both of my previous gixxers and I thought they looked quite good. Now that I have a cruiser and don't need to bend over the tank, I just keep it glossy and shiny and it looks great.

I just installed a clear Pro Grip tank pad on my SV. I'll let you in a few weeks if it's still holding up.

What tank bags can you store stuff in? I haven't seen one yet? Although I am in Japan...
