Arrow Is Icon A Good Gear To Buy?

Hey Member!
Just wondering is Icon a trusted brand for motorcycle, I hear alot about Joe Rocket and Shoei also I see alot of Alpinestar on the street. Im planing to get all gears from Icon. Anyone have any input about the company?

I'm not really sure, but just bought a textile jacket from them. It seems to have some good protection, shoulder, elbow, and spine! Paid about $120.

Don't know about their helmets but the gear seems reasonable. I recently bought a pair of tiMax Mesh pants and I love them.

As far as helmets go, check out this thread:

Icon from what I hear is a branch of the Parts Unlimited company. I would put their gear in top 1/3 of the gear makers and unless you know someone who's had issuse with their own personal Icon gear, don't believe all the crap hearsay stories that fill the net. That being said I have Icon Anthem riding jeans and I'm very happy with them along with an Icon primer tank bag and I love that thing like you wouldn't believe. Both are holding up well and are doing me just fine.

Layinlo (another member on here) was wearing his Icon Tarmac jacket when he got run off the road and he said the jacket did it's job and held up pretty well post crash.

I dont know man... My buddy weant down in those kevlar jeans and the mesh Icon jacket and it dint help him that much. I mean its better then not having anything at all but id recomend AVG for a jacket and KBC for helmets there cheap and they have washable liners and there very comfortable.

Their jackets and such are pretty good. Anything textile helps but is never as effective as leather.....not matter what the brand. As for their helmets I (personal opinion) think they are very uncomfortable and hurt to put on.

I've got the Primer tank bag. The quality is great and it's very well thought out. It will hold six bottles of beer (for transport, not comsumption).

Also, I found out another neat thing about it. It perfectly holds my spare shield for my helmet. I tend to ride in the evenings a lot and it's nice to be able to swap from dark to clear shield when the sun goes down and not have to worry about going home to get the clear one. The shield fits along the sides and back and fills the bag out nicely. I wonder if it was designed for this intentionally ???

I meant consumption while riding. To do that, all you need is a tube and a pocket for the bottle. Or one of those camelback things. Or if you're riding naked, you just bungee your 40 to the handlebars and run a tube (be sure to tape down anything that flaps).

Beautiful . . . simply . . . beautiful.

What do you use to keep the bums away from the bike at stoplights?

<i got the "flap joke," too >

They're too busy figuring out how to get their 50 cents off me for wiping the windshield on my gixxer to worry about stealing my juice.
