I know a few guys that own body shops. But probably any paint supply store would be willing to sell some supplies and give some pointers. Prep work is probably 80% of it. Go to a body shop if all you need is some touch up paint and a little clear they may just give you some. But the clear has to be mixed with hardner and once you mix them you only have so long before it needs to be sprayed or it jells up and gets hard.

ya thats the problem. .. NO body shop out here wants to deal with plastics. They all tell me any aftermarket paint will chi. Alot of those places say they dont paint plastic cause within a few weeks or so people come back wanting touch up cause it chips, so they just flat out stop doing it.

wow thats crazy. I know they have "flex" additives for plastic bumpers and stuff. I wonder how they paint cars with all the plastic they have on them without the same problems. I can see how the clear might be a problem. But I know they do it. I might talk to my paint guy and see what he says.

I have a little painting exsperience. I use to paint cars for about 3 years. I painted my last bike House of Kolor tangelo orange pearl (sweet color)! You can go to any automotive paint supply company, even Napa to buy paint. Like someone said before, it is all in how you prep the plastic. You have to use a adhesive promotor to help that paint stick! I would just start by looking for a color you want, and go from there. Take it to different shops, and paint companies to see who the cheapest. Remember the cheapest isn't going to be the best. I learned by taking a 10 month course at local community college, and started working at a Lincoln dealership. I wouldn't do it yourself, without a little exsperience from painting, because you can really screw something up in a heart beat, and then you will pay more to get it fixed!

Holy crap dudes.... You have to prep that plastic diffrent form how you would prep steel. SATA X is right. I did car body work for a while. And its a pain in the *** if you never did it before it the paint will probally crack on you. You have to use all sorts of bonding agents so the paint can flex more. One scew up like adding to much of agent will thow a monkey wrench in the whole program.
