| -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi everybody, I am new to street bikes, I have decided that I will get a 600 gsxr instead of the 1000 like I almost bought. I realize that the 600 is fast and an almost perfect performer. My question how much different is it ridding the 6oo as to the 750, the specs are so close. I think that the 750 is exactly the same except it is a small amount more powerful, only just enough to note it is not a 600. Is this conclusion at all correct??? I appreciate the help. This is a great forum. |

| Ditch Magnet ![]() | the gsxr600 is an awesome bike. but the 750 is really the top dog on the track. even turning faster lap times then the gsxr1000 (except at daytona where they have the high speed banked track) in the 1/4 mile the 750 is about .5 a second faster than the 600. that doesn't seem like much but it really is. the 750 is also pumping out about 25-30 more hp. i would go for the 600 if i were you. it's more bike than a beginner really needs.

| I have always heard that to have to keep the 750 wound up because they dont have any bottom or mid power. Where as the 600 has better midrange. I have never ridden a 750 so I dont know about that part but my 6 is pulling hard by 6000. Just wondering from any 750 owners if that sounds true.

| Ditch Magnet ![]() | that's not true. both bikes start pulling the hardest around 7500-8000 but the 750 still pulls harder than the 600 at lower rpm's

| stik with the gixxr 6 man the 750 comes up very easily and the new 600 and 750 are the same bike except the 750 is 5 pounds more and 150 cc larger then the 6. its a beast@
