Are you sure that it's grinding? When I use the rear brake, I can hear the pads against the disk, but the pads are fine. It's not uncommon to hear something when using the rear brakes.

I can't imagine how you would have worn down the rear pads before the front ones, unless you are using a very bad technique. Most people use the front brakes exclusively, so that the front pads have to be replaced much earlier than the rear ones.

If your heavy on the rear brake, stop.

They will not warrenty brake pads, that is a disposable item.

Is it a grinding, squeaking or just a contact noise? All brakes make some slight noises even when pushing the bike when it's turned off. My 04 GSXR 600 was new when I got it and after a few hundred miles it was squeaking but that went away after a little while. I doubt you need a new brake as I have over 8,000 miles on my factory brake and it's still strong.

There's no way you wore them out unless you constantly drag the *** and never use the front. Don't insult your dealer by asking them to buy you new pads. Let it ride for a while and see if it changes. I noticed my fronts making a bit of noise yesterday, but I think it's just the humidity and some dust.

you can just look at the pads you know.... i mean if theres meat on them thats good. Look at your rotors you see deep scuffs? Just get some break cleaner. Take off the rear caliper and spray the rotor and the claiper

My rear pads have been changed twice, and the fronts are still in good shape. I must subconsciously be hitting the rear brake harder. No, I don't ride the brake.
