Default tickets, how many you have?

For the 6 years since I mooved into the States I managed to keep my record clean, but today I crossed the line. I got a speeding ticket while riding to work. It was such a bad luck, and I don't want to get into details.
I already exosted the traffic school option, with my last 12 hours attendance /for running on red on an ongoing freeway ramp with my car/ , and now I guess I'll have to accespt the point in my record. My other ticket were really as dumb as this one, and I'm really p.s.ing gas.
Anyway I'm plannig to go to court and hope for a miracle.
What's your take on all that?
Should I just accept it and join the brotherhood, and how bad it will affect my inshurance and I don't know what more it will affect...
P.S.I mean what's wrong with the police they are out there just to get our money, not to protect us. I was speeding a little, for few seconds, but wasn't posing any danger whatsoever.

Yeah, well...I just got a ticket on Tuesday night!

I was two blocks from home and he clocked me at 44 in a 30...DANGIT!! The only good news is that it's been two years since my last ticket, so I can go to the county and ask to be put on "probation". I still have to pay the fine for the ticket, but as long as I don't get another ticket in the next year, it won't go on my record.

Now I have to drive/ride like a grandma for the next year!!

Humm well these were on the letter I got from the State of Florida saying If I got one more Ticket my DL would have been suspended.
9-11-00 Speeding 53 in a 35, 4 points
4-02-01 Speeding 44 in a 35, 3 points
7-02-02 Speeding 57 in a 35, 4 points
9-19-02 Improper Turn, 3 points
9-22-02 Speeding 89 in a 70, 4 points
8-XX-03 Speeding 50 in a 35, beat it in court
5-17-04 Speeding 50 in a 35, took the class, no points

Despite all those engagment with LEOs my rates ($501/6 mo) never went up and I still have a safe driver status.

I'm not sure how my recent rear ending a SUV will effect my rates since that is a pay out situation but I've got over 20 years with Allstate so I would like to believe they won't change at all.

I have been pulled over after doing 120....Told the Police it was COLD and I had to get home to take a piss! He laughed and said keep it under 70 MPH please.

I have been in Bear Mountain State Park and doing 90 MPH when I notice a Cop Car with the Cherries going on top so I slow down and pull to the side and he flies by and pulls over the group ahead of me. Go figure.

I had my frined George who is a Cop in my home town set up Radar along Rt. 287 and I ran through it at 162 MPH on my 1989 Katana 600. That was Fun!

All this is stupid stuff I did before I decided the Track was better suited for this kind of behavior!

You've been to the track. Now you know better. You should have known better anyway since you were at the track Sunday!

Let's see, I got busted for:

96 in a 55
80 in a 30

Those were the highlights from years past. A certain Interceptor 500 always got me busted. The GPz 750 was a luckier mount. A had a few others that were so long ago that I can't remember.

I tune it down on the street bigtime, and wick it up on the track.

You can't make that rant and that claim without sharing the details so we may decide for ourselves.

Apparently most of the CHP in my area are women that are easily impressed. Nothin' yet.

But then... my bike don't go no faster than 75!

If I told you, you wouldn't believe me, so why bother?

I'll put it this way, in Memphis, they'll automatically drop your ticket (no points go to Nashville) if it's <10 over, if you show up to court and pay court costs. If it's <5 over, you show up in court and walk free of charge.

I have never had one on the bike [knocks on wood], but I've been driving for 18 years, and I got my first one within 6 months of getting a license: 71 in a 55, from a state troooper, with a carload of partying kids. No search, thank God.

Anyone care to guess how many I've had?

<i don't know exactly how many i've had (there's a hint), but i can do a pretty good ballpark estimate>

My first and last ticket on a motorcycle was in 1983 coming into Lompoc Ca on an RD-400 at 105mph. Cost me $187.

I han't had a ticket on a motorcycle since 1992. 70 in a 55. I have had many tickets over the years, and not untill recently has my insurance been affected. I got 2 within a month of each other last year.

This isn't going to be a popular opinion but, I think if the Po-Po were encouraged to be a little more serious about writing tickets, there would be less written, because more folks would respect the limit. The speed limit is supposed to be the maximum allowable speed. It's almost impossible to drive these speeds in most places because so many folks, myself included, automatically add 10mph to that number.

Could the speed limits in some places be higher? Sure, although most of our roads aren't built for it (on and off ramps too short).

I've been trying really hard lately not to exceed the posted limit. It requires a concious effort on my part, because I'm used to either rolling with traffic or passing it. I find myself in the right lane for the entirety of my trips and often have many folks behind me trying to encourage me (ie. riding my bumper) to speed up.

Last ticket I got was for driving 135 in a 70 mph zone. That was back in 1981. None since.

I was actually in my car when I got the ticket ...but it still means that I have to be extra careful on my bike now too!

I found out that my area is having some extra deal going on w/ the police...an initiative to crack down on speeding. I guess the police chief was saying that they aren't going to let the "small speeding" offenses go anymore.

14 over is considered "small speeding" offense?!?!?!?!?!

C'mon, you are ALWAYS flirting w/a ticket one you hit the 10 MPH over mark.

Only one ticket ever. 34 in a 20 zone. That was in 1972.
