Default SV650 vs SV650S

not much of a price difference, although it looks like more plastic and better looks with the sv650s. Are there any changes besdies plastic between these?

I see some other differences like 1 headlight vs 2 headlights from the picture at suzuki.com now.

any significant differences? same engines?

Same bikes, mechanically. Plastics are the big difference. The sv650 has zero wind protection, the plastics make a world of difference when riding.

Head lights, plastics, handlebars...

Earlier models had different ergonomics. As I understand it, parts are interchangeable, so you could go sporty or comfy.

Looks and ergonomics are the differences. The Sv650S as a slightly more aggressive riding posture.

I think he only difference is the height of the handlebars. Otherwise it's the same bike.

Yep the SVS has clip on's so your in the sport bike rider position with the front fairing. While the SV (naked) has risers and a more standard handle bars to give you a more upright riding position with out a front screen or fairing and a single 7" round head light. Other then that the Bikes are 100% the same.

Clip on handlebars - when you have two segments connected to the forks (instead of a single handlbar with grips at each end).

NO. The clip-ons give the rider a more leaned over body position, because they are just two separate hand grips individually atatched to the top of the forks. You have to lean over a little farther to reach them giving you a more aggressive posture. More like a racing bike. It is NOT a handle bar. Handle bars are............bars. they are a bent pipe that typically leaves the rider in a more upright riding position and give the motorcycle more relaxed ergonomics and handling.
