| Hello all, I just purchased a 2000 Bandit 1200s, my first bike. Im very excited. I have one question: I noticed the front fairing on the newer bandits looks much better. Can I put a fairing from a newer bandit on my 2000 bandit to bring the look more up to date? Thanks in advance Eddie |

| I'm sure it can be done, it's more an issue of how hard it is. I owned a '99 and while I never really liked the look of the fairing that much, I gave me good wind/rain protection (I'm 6'2"). The newer fairing appears to be larger so it's probably not a straight bolt on swap - mounting brackets might have to be bent/altered/cut/welded, etc. Plus the gauges are fairing mounted on the newer generation where the gauges were handlebar mounted on the older models. Then there's the headlight issue - one on the older models, two on the new. All in all, I would think it is possible, but not nearly worth the work, time and $$$ involved. You also mentioned this is your first bike? A 1200 Bandit is an awful lot of 'sickle to start off on. Be careful!

| It's a different design. You will have to modify the front end to accomodate the different fairing. I would leave it alone or buy a 2000 if thats what you wanted anyways..... Rowdy will probably know anyways....

| Checking... checking... Edit: http://www.maximum-suzuki.com/ibf/in...opic=38568&hl= Doesn't sound like anything I'd want to attempt. Hate to say it, but 2nd gen bikes are so cheap I'd never buy a 1st gen. The improvements are significant. Off topic: That's a hell of a lot of bike to learn on. If you can, get your money back. There are many bikes that will allow you to learn proper technique without all that risk. Later (years later), you can get yerself a shiny silver 2nd gen B12.
