Angry 03-gsx-r600 won't start!!!

I was wondering if someone could help me out. A friend of mine brought over his 03 gsx-r600 for me to look at becasue it had starting problem. He claims he left his parking lights on and the battery died. When he tired to start it the battery was dead so he jump started it with a car and that got him home. When he got home he turned the bike off and tired to jump it again. this time everything came on as normal, but nothing happened when he hit the starter button.

I told him to bring it by so I could look at it. I have charged and verified the battery is good, checked all the fuses (main, ignition, etc...), and still no luck. I tested if voltage was getting to the starter and it not (thus the starter in not blown) and somehow power is not getting to the starter. When you turn on the ignition the gas line pressurizes, and everything looks normal (however the f1 light remains on). Does anyone have eny insight on what else this problem could be? Is there a main relay? Is there any hidden fuses? The manual sucks and gives me no insight or electrical diagrams. I Need help. I don't want to take it in to suzuki until I have tired everything.

thanks,

Luis

Check the kickstand cut out switch and also check the fuses.

Forgive the stupid question, but we're all human. Did you check the kill switch?

Muti Meter. If theres not even a click that means power is not even geting to the starter so look at the crap that would stop the power from going to the starter. THe battery, blown fuse, Clutch lever, kick stand switch. Just check the OHM's a reading of INFIN means a open if you get a reading it means its closed

Here's a test you can do. Uncle Bob posted this a while back. Maybe it will help:

On the left side of the tail, there is capped plug alone with 2 wires going into it.Uncap it and bypass the 2 wires with a paper clip.

Where you were reading FI( fuel injection) there will be a eroor code (cXX) like c 21or c22 or c23,.....

see below your problem:

C14 - THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
C15 - ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
C21 - INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
C22 - ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE SENSOR
C23 - TIPOVER SENSOR
C24 - IGNITION SIGNAL #1
C25 - IGNITION SIGNAL #2
C26 - IGNITION SIGNAL #3
C27 - IGNITION SIGNAL #4
C28 - SECONDARY THROTTLE VALVE ACTUATOR
C29 - SECONDARY THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
C30 - SECONDARY THROTTLE CONTROL UNIT
C31 - GEAR POSITION SENSOR
C32 - INJECTOR SIGNAL #1
C33 - INJECTOR SIGNAL #2
C34 - INJECTOR SIGNAL #3
C35 - INJECTOR SIGNAL #4
C41 - FUEL PUMP CONTROL SYSTEM
C42 - IGNITION SWITCH SIGNAL
C46 - EXHAUST CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR (1000 ONLY)

This is the best I can do to help, not a gixxer expert and got this info from a friend. Hope it helps.

Of course the best thing for you to do is to get yourself a good repair manual from Haynes or Chilton. There just doesn't seem to be any reliable sources for a free version off the internet so you'll have to pay for it but it's a great investment that could save many times the cost in repairs.
