Default Speedo mph to kph

Can anyone tell me how to change my speedo from mph to kph need to be able to do it for M.O.T

Basically you don't need to change the speedo itself, just the "face" behind it - you can usually find metric speedo faces offered on eBay.uk.co ...

Sorry should have been more precise it`s a digital speedo fitted to a gsxr 1000k1 model

There is probably a switch somewhere, or a setup sequence (like press the reset button while turning the key) - my advice would be to RTFM.

It's a 1001 model. Probably lost the manual by now, or the parchment disintegrated.

It may be an old k1 model but it makes 164.9bhp at the back wheel

And when do you plan to use those 164.9 horses? If you are on a track, you can remove the speedometer. And if you are on the street, I'm sure you'll never use more than a quarter of the available power...
