It should be specified in the owner's manual.

read the manual, but very carefully. I tried few times when I got my bike and it didn't work, so I thought it was broken or something and gave up. then in few weeks tried again but paid more attention to what actually the manual says, and it worked. As far as I remember there was a trick with the key...
Anyway I don't use the light, too much hassle.

It sound like lost motel has it right in his link. That will set it but to use it you have to turn it on every time you start the bike.
turn the key to on, press and hold the shift light button till light comes on in instament panel, start your bike and go like hell to see if it works.

I read the owners manual and did find the INFO...

Yeap, is a little tricky but I got it and works great...

The bad thing is a need to pussh the bottom every time I turn on the bike...

BUt works great...
