Default tire size

what would be the biggest tire you could put on a 05 gsxr600, the stock size is 180, could i go 190 ? or even 200 ? with out rubbing or causing trouble ? i just like the looks of a bigger tire thanks.......Joel

Going larger for looks will ruin the way the bike handles. Stick with that "skinny" 180!

if you didn't know, going with a larger tire will adversely affect the handling of the bike. it is not worth it. keep the 180. if you still insist on a wider tire, go buy a chopper and sell the gixxer.

I second that.

I put ten-speed tires on my mountain bike one time and it just SUCKED on the trails.

My 929 came with a 190 rear, I have since gone down to 180. The bike handles much better.

Also depends on what you wanna do. For drag or stunt, I prefer the 190, but for everything else, stick with the 180 (it's a good all-around tire).

I am stuck with a max of a 150 rear tire. Enjoy the 180 you have!

Always a 180 for regular street or stunt. 200 or bigger for drag.

Interesting. I wondered the same thing. I personally like the big wide fat tires on the back of the bikes. My friend took his 02 Gixxer 750 and put a 200 tire on the rear. He swears he doesn't feel the difference in the handling. When it came to me...I asked my friend...I call the "Super Mechanic" his comment was, "it has a 180 on it..keep it that way."

For me I chose to stay with what the bike came standard with.

LOL. Squids are so named because they don't take corners. You have to corner to feel it.

Both you and UB must know why you got banned. I searched, but I couldn't find anything. Banning isn't a single button, but rather a series of clicks and data entry. It wasn't an accident.
