Default Good price?

Well thanks to all your help I decided I will buy that SV650s to replace my 95 Katana 750. Now I'm a bit nervous about it being overpriced and would like your thoughts.

Its a 2004 SV650S with 1,100 miles. It has full fairings, but other than that its stock. There are some minor scrapes on the sides (no sliders) and on a mirror back, but otherwise it looks pristine. He wants $5,000 for it which based on the NADA and KBB sites is considered average/high retail (although there is no allowance for milage and this bike is low). Ther eis also still some factory warranty left (not sure how much)

So what are your thoughts on the price? On another related question, how hard is it to sell a bike? If I buy this one I will need to sell my Katana. I'm not looking for a lot of money ($2,000 to 2,500). Will I have a hard time selling it this time of year?

For $1500.00 more, out the door, you can get one with no scaratches or broken parts and no miles. KBB has no allowance for damage or lack of maintenance either. A new fairing from the dealer is probably about $500.00 plus the other parts. Has it ever been serviced during those 1100 miles?

Now is the time of year to sell a bike. It should sell easily.

I had been looking at new ones, but there were 2 things that caught my attention on this one. $2,000 cheaper (new is $6500 + $500 for fairing) and it was almost new. The other thing I liked about it was that it had past the break in period and thus no waiting to "enjoy" it. Good question about the service. I doubt any service was done since he never even got it inspected.

Bike should have had a 600 mile service. That's a crucial oil change and retorque of all major bolts, plus more!
