Default HELP! Bike won't start!

I have an 01 GSXR 6, had the same problem last week and I bought a new battery and it worked fine..... til now. Now it's doin the same thing as last time, it will turn on but the fuel whine is real quiet, and when I try and start it, the gauge cluster goes blank. It won't even jump start now.

Thanks guys,
-K

Did you leave the key in the "Park" position and kill the battery?

Won't even jump huh? Wierd, let's see...when you turn the key, the bike primes up, and that's it. Does your gauge light up? When you hit the start button, what happens...click click click? Sounds like an ignition problem, and not that battery...I don't know man.

I didn't leave the key in park. When I hit the start button, no clicking, the guages just go blank and turn off. I'm lost...

Remove the battery
Place it on a bike charger
Get a manual and a meter
Reinstall the battery
See if it's drawing any amps when off.
Start trouble shooting the electrical system with the help of the manual.

Odd that one of those would fail so soon . . .

No kidding! Replaced a LOT of those in the CB-Series bikes.

Well my bike has a little over 14 k miles on it (it's my daily rider) and I read somewhere that the regulators only last about 15 k miles so I guess I was about due.

Sigh........... installed the new regulator/rectifier, charged the battery, bike ran perfectly.

Until about 2 weeks later, now I have the SAME problem as before!

The bike will turn on (barely) and when I try to start it, it goes dead. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Maybe the battery has gone bad? What happens when you put in a different battery? Does the bike start then?

It's a brand spanking new battery in there, it seems like it's not holding a charge though.

Also, does anyone know how to check if a regulator/rectifier is operating properly? Please help!
