| I've never had a problem doing that. If you search this forum you'll find several threads discussing this very thing.

| How many miles on it? If at least 3,000, it should be no problem. I switched @ 7,000 miles, the bike was happier. I think you really shouldn't break-in a bike on synthetic, it just takes too long. 99% of the time you break it in using conventional oils, due to the frequent oil changes. It needs to wear a little for break-in to happen. Last edited by bat4255; 05-05-2005 at 09:43 AM. |

| Agreed with all the above. I'd consider sticking to mineral oil in a bike over, say, 30,000 miles since it might be inclined to burn the thinner synthetic. Do it, but be aware that certain bikes have clutches that slip when using regular automotive synthetic. It's rare, though, and I use Mobil 1 15-50 in my Bandit 1200 with no problems.

| Who are you talking to? Most agree that MX4T is overpriced and unnecessary.

| Depends completely upon your opinion of when break-in is complete and when your first service is scheduled. That varies widely. I went a few thousand to be sure.
