wow, i know im a little late here, but that sucks. my room mate has a sv650, ive ridden it several times, i know how they are when takin the twisties, but uhh, what i recommend for new tires, is a nice burnout that clears most of the "freshness" off of em.

a nice little side to side burnout, get all the edges

Man, I'm so sorry to hear about the spill!!! I'm very glad that you're okay!

You said that your head and shoulders took the brunt, so I am assuming you were wearing a helmet? How did your gear hold up?

I'm sorry to hear about it. I'd like to know the same as SuzGirl... how'd your gear hold up? I'm glad to hear you're doing better though!

Everything held up great...they're the body parts (head&shoulders) that hurt the least. My shoulder pad isn't cracked, just dirty and a little scuffed, and still haven't gotten all the dirt off. And the helmet just had a bunch of grass and scratches on it, but cleaned up fine. As the days went by after the crash, my left leg gradually began to hurt more, and now my shoulders a little stiff...(just feels like I played baseball all day). So yeah...everything held up great. My jacket is a Tecnic, and my helmet is an HJC CL14. If I hadn't had 'em on, I would be in bad shape I'm sure.

If you went down on it - throw away that helmet and get a new one!

Bike helmets are designed to absorb ONE crash. Even if it looks okay from the outside, the protection may be damaged - you can't see that.
