I love mine, it's got a nice comfy ride to it, and i'm 6"1 and i got on my buddies R6 the other day and literally hated it, not meant for a tall person, i was putting so muhc pressure on my palms to stay upright, but ya, i love mine, and u can mod it to, but that was my first bike and i'm glad i made the choice, good luck to you

Probably because he never really got his questions answered.

I'm still wondering the answer to the Kan-O-Tuna question. What's that about, really?

The Katana has been given a reputation as a heavier, slower, cheaper bike than the GSXR. It's a great bike for what it's meant to be, but the squids wouldn't be caught dead on one. Thus, the less-than-glowing nickname.

Other than that, his questions were answered quite well, I think.

I think I'll bring back the thread asking if 4-stroke bikes are here to stay...

I love these post , especially the one about the skate-boarding. I am in my mid thirties , and have had an urge to ride for a few years. I got my permit , and harassed my cousin to let me ride his bike (didn't know anything about bikes, just that I wanted to ride) he advised me that his bike was like his girl , and that he wouldn't want anybody else to ride her , so he sold me his spare. He rides a 95 Kat 600, he sold me a 91 750 Kat that he had laid. I was ecstatic. My dream of ridding and looking cool was finally a reality for me. ( after repairs , paint and license just keeping it real ) The situation that I personally encountered is that many , many of my co-workers also ride , some young and some old ; event-hough , I'm not supposed to feel peer pressure I lot of these guys call my Kat a, " can of tuna ". Most of these guys ride really expensive and the latest model bikes , so needles to say that after a few months ; even-thought, I am a grown man I began to feel that my Kat was not such a great bike after all. O.K , after all of my blabbing I will finally get to my point. My point is that I have never once stop to consider the points of view that have been offered in the post the that I've just read. I now feel better about my decision to wait until I have more ridding experience before going out and jumping maybe head first ( before this post ) into the new bike experience. Any way , thank you all for helping me see things through a more experienced , and a more mature prospective. P.S. I can now get back to throughly enjoying all the aspects of owning and ridding my 1991 750 can of tuna. LOL

The Kat is a really good bike for what it is. It is considered a sport tourer. It is comfortable and actually handles well and predictably. I have not ridden one of the last updates. I had a 600 in the early 90's for a while and have had friends that had them since.

I hate people who criticize what others ride. I rode an '05 Honda Super Hawk until it got stolen four months ago. I had a few people ask, "why didn't you get a GSXRYZFZX-1,000,000?" I loved that bike. I like it more than my GSXR750. (Which when I ride I get the "why didn't you get the 1000" question.) Ride what makes you happy. Don't worry about impressing anyone other than yourself. Besides, most of the time when people criticize what other people ride, they can't ride for sh*@ anyway.
