| I'm looking to purchase a bandit 1200S. This would be my first streetbike, I haven't been on a bike in 15years. I ride my KX250 and Quads all the time. would the 1200S be too much too chew. 6ft 250 I need a bike that fits. any suggestions.

| Forensic Bug Splatter Analyst. ![]() | Thanks for coming by! Hmm... Bandit 1200? A lot of bike to start on the street with. Guess it depends on your ability to manage your throttle with respect. I'd suggest you take an MSF course and learn some street basics. It's a lot different than dirt. Your dirt experience will help though!

| Welcome!!! Rowdy rides a Bandit 1200, I'm sure he'll be along shortly for some additional advice, but here's my two cents... The Bandit 1200 has got a TON of power. It's an awesome bike, but may be a bit much at first. Definitley take the MSF class, even if you've taken it before, it is well worth it. Welcome to the forum!!

| I sent him a drooling account of the Bandit via email. All he needs now is confirmation that I'm not a fool.

![]() I ride the 600 Bandit. Aside from the low power (a 1200 is NOT low on power), I can't say anything bad about the bike. Being <160 lbs, I can't criticize the suspension, but bigger folks do. The Bandit in a nutshell: 1) Parts bin bike - built from pieces of other models, which means none of the parts are in their developmental stages . . . they're all proven. 2) Naked engine - Need I say more? It's like Schwarzenegger with his shirt off. 3) Cheap - Since the "Lookie Lous" aren't constantly pursuing this model, it sells for a little less than the "bike of the day." 4) Cheap Insurance - Another added bonus of not having the "bike of the day," the squids aren't known to flock to the Bandit, so the insurance companies aren't paying out on them all of hte time . . . that has to help. 5) Comfortable - No clip-ons. I'll say it louder so your wrists, back and abdominals can hear me: "NO CLIP-ONS." You can literally ride all day, if you upgrade the seat to a Corbin or something. I'll whisper the next (most important) thing: <Only cool people are allowed to buy them. No dorks, geeks, nerds or bufoons.>
