Question 2004 GSXR 750 Engine Break in Period?

Hi,does anyone know the manufacturer break in period for this bike?

Also, how about the engine rpm restrictions within a given milage?

I pick my bike up next week and was just looking for a heads up.

Thanks,

DD

You should be supplied with a manual, along with an introductory lesson from the dealer.

Usually it's something like keep the rpm varied and under 4000 for so many hundred, then varied and under 8000 for a few more hundred, then your first scheduled maintenance.

I have an 04 GSXR600 and think the break in's are about the same.

-Don't ride it for much longer than an hour at a time for the first 800 or so miles.

-Keep it under 6-7,000 for the first 500 miles, varying the RPM below 7,000 as much as possible.

-For the period between 500-1,000 miles keep it below 10,000 also varying the RPM as much as you can.

-CHANGE YOUR OIL AT 1,000 MILES!

Ok and what is an "Introductory lesson"?Is that basically a briefing on what I should and should not do during break in?

They should familiarize you with the controls, explain any maintenance that will be required early on, and describe the break-in procedure. If they don't, ask them to. It's part of their obligation to Suzuki.
