Default Cruising rpm

on a gsxr 600 what rpm would u cruise at? i find myself hovering below 6000 but always above 5000..............

?????????

Don't understand the question. Are you asking what rpm the engine is at a certain speed or what rpm you should keep the engine at?

There's no reason to intentionally keep it over about 4000 unless you expect to need sudden power. On the highway, it's generally assumed that you'd want the engine as slow as possible for fuel economy. It's really a subjective thing.

most 600s are geared to spin at something like 5000-6000 at highway speeds (ie 100-120kmh) in top gear. that's only halfway to redline so if you're worrried about engine wear it's not an issue.

i was just curioius to know cuz when i get on the throttle hard it boggs down a little takes 2 seconds to get goin, is that just a trait of larger carbs or just the cold weather in washington?

you should be running about 5200-5400 at 70mph cold weather will make the bike run better.

are you downshifting? because i can't imagine many 600 supersports taking off cleanly on wide open throttle in top gear at anything below 7000rpm. maybe a gsxr rider begs to differ....
