Default Bought 82 GS 750, have concerns.

Here it is:

It's pretty huge compared to the GZ 250 I've been riding for the last 3,500 miles, but I'm getting used to it pretty quickly. The brakes on it completely suck though. The rear requires me to stand on it to get it to slow the bike at all, and the front isn't handling its job very well. I'm still getting used to the brake feel so maybe I'm not even close to the threshold, but still this thing stops slower than my GZ 250 with no front brake pads left (it's touching steel to steel whenever I hit the brake. The pads are in the mail). I'm wondering if that's a design flaw or if this bike is on the messed up side.

On the plus side the engine and tranny run very well and it's a rocketship on wheels. It's the 84hp 16 valve model, and also has Kerker 4-1 exhaust, uprated oil cooler and K&N filter. I'm not sure it it's been rejetted for the airflow improvements. I'd guess that bumps it up into the 87-88hp range.

Problem: It runs into an accelerative brick wall at 7,500rpm. It feels like a hard limiter it's so sudden. It pulls like a monster up to there, but then that's it. Suzuki specs say this thing is supposed to hit the torque peak at 8,450rpm, which is of course way off of what this one is doing. Maybe it has clogged carbs? Ideas?

Something I just came across today (and like a couple other problems should have noticed when checking the bike out), it only runs continuously with the fuel valve in prime. It won't run more than a minute or two with it "on". It chokes on itself and dies and any speed, and dies quicker the more throttle I use. What's up with that? Thanks a lot for the help.
