You'll love the 750. My 04 is so much better and refined than my 02 was. Those bikes arent even close. You WILL notice a huge difference between that bike and your old r6. when i first got mine broke in and got into it i could tell a huge difference. now that i have changed quite a few things it is even better.

I have seen 170 on my speedo before and the bike had more in it. I just let out

Hey my 04 750 Rocks. It has more power than I care to even know. At times I find it..and when I do...my quality time..I at times..wonder how I can still be alive it surprises me. I'm just surprised that the power comes out of such a bike. Yet it is managable since it gets wild at higher rpms which allows control. Looking at the specs..I agree the 05 Gixxer 750 looks the same but the 1000 that's the hot one. I know that I will be keeping my 05 750 Gixxer for a long while. It does everything I want it to do..and can do things..that I hope I never do do.

Will it wheelie in 3rd by clutching it? I could not really do that well on my 2002 R6.

Will it wheelie in Third? Definately yes. I've done it personally. No clutch. Now lets put it in reality. I was doing around 60 didn't know at the time I was in third. Sped up to see my friend's girlfriend on the back of his bike..looked at her...then my speedometer it read 95 and the front wheel was off the ground.

Next..another rider was driving in the passing lane we going 60. I was in 6th. He dropped to third, sped up, drop off..then cranked it and the front wheel was off the ground and he rode it for 2 miles.

One more thing. In 04 I saw the revised 750. But 05..the 750 looked the same to me. Me personally if I would get a bike in 05, I'd get the 1000. It's what a 1000 bucks more? Not sure about insurance though.

Just my humble opinion since the liter of 05 is redone. But if you get the 750, you will be very happy. Also compared to the R6, which I rode only one that was an 04..the Gixxer handles so much easier in corners.

well..i know with usaa the insurance for the 1000 was 258 for six months with 1000 deductable. and 301 with 500 deductable for six months..

the 750 is 234 for 6 months with 1000 deduct..and 264..with 500 deduct..

so not too bad and not much of a difference.

only bad thing is i think USAA is starting to decline motorcycle policies unless you already have one with them from before..

The 00' I bought, according to the mechanic who has it now, can do 182, with a Power Commander.... standalone thought, he said I could do in excess of 150... question is, where would I go that fast without killing myself when I got cut off by a car?

I'm told the 05 is similar to the 04. I have an 04. You're going to love that bike. Top end speed. Most all that I know..that are still alive..top speed we're never found. I had mine up to 168..once..and..no more I think. Interesting you mentioned about a power commander. Here's what I did and is my humble opinion. I was waiting on my k&n air filter since august of last year. I finally got it. Along with my Yoshimura pipe I took my Gixxer back to the dealership and they remapped the engine for me. It only cost $30.00. I've been told the power commander is very nice yet in my town the humidity and barometric pressure remains pretty constant so the difference between remapping and getting a power commander would be nothing.

For me I'm very satisfied. Power difference between your R6 02 and your 05 Gixxer 750. You just wait...you will be very surprised. I had compared the 04 R6 to my 04 Gixxer 750. The answer is hands down H-Yes! You're going to have fun.

One last thing. It'll be as safe or really as dangerous as you allow it. My humble opinion is that it will surprise you enough with the power band above 6K. Good luck and ride safe.

2 nights ago I did 170mph with my750 and probally had alittle more to go. Just disided to let off at that speed. My bike has powercommander on it and a bolt on yoshrs-3. I think she might do 180mph

Okay, now that is just scary!! Would you all recommend a weight limit for anything over 500cc's?

Had my 05 Gsxr doing 250kmh with throttle left. I think with a good enough stretch of highway or track you could get over 300.

250 = 155.34

What colour is your bike "05 Gixer750"?
