Default Timing Retard Eliminator

I ordered a TRE (Timing Retard Eliminator) for my GSX 1400. It cost me about 35 british pounds with shipping, but I haven't had a chance to install it until now. (It's been cold and rainy here for the past week - in German it's called "scheiss Wetter!")

Do any of you have a TRE installed on your bikes? Do they really make a difference in performance?

Here's the link to eBay where I bought it, in case anyone doesn't know what a TRE is: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=7926820622

Smoothed out the first 2 gears on my bike and got rid of top end restriction.

Noticable difference,well worth the money.
Also makes riding in town at slow speeds easier.

I clipped my two wires, I guess it helped?? I mean the bike still runs okay.

the tre does indeed help by smoothing out 1st - 4th gears. it also removes the top speed limiter if your bike is so equipped. i have one, and i wouldn't think of turning it off.

So, the weather gods decided to be kind to us this weekend, and we have had two beautiful, sunny days. I took the chance to install my new cooler cover and my TRE, and take the bike out for a spin...

I think that there is a British expression that sums it up best...

How did that go again ...

Oh yea ...

BLOODY 'ELL!

My 1400 is noticably more responsive - especially in 4th gear when I want to pass someone on the motorway. I took a 2 hour ride through the southern Black Forest ... what a trip! I got home an hour ago, and I'm still grinning

I would definitely recommend installing a TRE to anyone with a fuel-injected bike!
